ReNewMe

Undo. Renew. Rebuild. A supervised fitness and nutrition program for people whose bodies have been injured by chronic illness.

We are in a health crisis. Almost every American is affected — personally or through a loved one — by a chronic condition: obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders, kidney failure, arthritis. The toll is measured in medications, doctor's visits, lost work, emotional distress, and missed moments with the people we love.

The ReNewMe program is designed to return the body injured by chronic illness back toward homeostasis — all of the body's systems working together in balance. Chronic illness fuels inflammation, depletes the body's resources, and produces harmful byproducts, all enemies of that balance. Our goal is to help "undo" that damage and "renew" the body toward a healthier state — which in turn opens the door to every other part of a full, productive life.

The idea behind our name

Fitness and nutrition at the foundation

Our program draws on psychologist Dr. Abraham Maslow's hierarchy — the drive to fulfill one's talents and reach one's highest potential, or self-actualization. ReNewMe is built on a modified version of that pyramid.

Fitness and nutrition form the base. They make physical well-being and homeostasis possible, which supports self-esteem, which clears the path toward self-actualization. ReNewMe fills in the foundation — and works alongside other organizations that provide the remaining pieces, so that together we support a person's whole life potential.

It's the same pyramid you'll find in our logo — a reminder of what everything else is built on.

How it works

Supervised, supportive, and science-based

Participants take part in regularly scheduled weekly group fitness and interactive nutrition classes, led by professionals in a supportive group setting designed to return them toward a healthy, balanced life.

Restore balance

Movement and nutrition that fight inflammation and help the body's systems work together again.

In good company

A supportive group setting that keeps people engaged and reduces the isolation of chronic illness.

Built to last

Sustainable habits designed to keep improving life long after the program ends.

Why it counts

The science is clear

Physical fitness and nutrition — done together, as one program — improve lives and can help prevent and manage the chronic illnesses that cripple the body in so many ways. ReNewMe brings those two forces together for the people who need them most.
